I am a software engineer with a passion for problem-solving and turning ideas into functional, elegant solutions. This site is my way of sharing a bit about myself, my experiences, and the projects I've worked on over the years. It's a place to document my journey and explore the intersection of creativity and technology.
Feel free to browse through my experiences and projects. Whether you're here out of curiosity or seeking inspiration, I hope you find something that resonates or sparks an idea. If nothing else, it's a snapshot of what I enjoy building and learning.
2023 - PRESENT
I engineer scalable, cloud-based bioinformatics workflows using Nextflow, cutting analysis runtime from overnight to hours and automating processes to accelerate research timelines. Additionally, I collaborate with cross-site teams to design and implement components of a centralized internal database, facilitating data accessibility and aligning with broader organizational goals. To ensure reproducible workflows and seamless collaboration, I also support CI/CD pipeline best practices, version control, and rigorous documentation standards.
2021 - 2023
I developed a Nextflow-driven workflow management platform using Next.js and FastAPI, providing real-time progress monitoring, user-specific permissions, and intermediate result access for enhanced transparency. I also co-authored two patent filings, contributing to proprietary datasets and designing a scalable data management platform that significantly boosted research throughput. To optimize computational resources, I transformed the hybrid server architecture by integrating Slurm HPC clusters with centralized user authentication via LDAP. Additionally, I achieved a 40% reduction in projected AWS costs by optimizing S3 and Storage Gateway usage-maintaining high system availability without compromising performance.
